Storyboard Text
- "On the morning after I brought it home, that, like Pluto, it also had been deprived of one of its eyes. This circumstance, however, only endeared it to my wife" (Poe 17).
- When the narrator goes out drinking he meets a cat like Pluto that follows him home. He initially likes the cat but dislikes it later as he walks home, and further dislikes it when his wife shows a liking to it
- When the narrator is walking down into the basement he is sent into a rage by the cat and tries to kill it, but ends up killing the wife instead and stuffing her in the wall
- "Uplifting an axe, and forgetting, in my wrath, the childish dread which had hitherto stayed my hand, I aimed a blow at the animal [...] But this blow was arrested by the hand of my wife" (Poe 22).
- The narrator arrogantly knocks on the wall where is wife is to prove its sturdiness in front of the cops, but the cat starts meowing from within the wall and the cops find his dead wife and the cat.
- "I had walled the monster up within the tomb!" (Poe 30).
