- What if we helped each other survive and reproduce that way our predecessors have a better shot at survival?
- And thus the EUKARYOTIC CELL was born...

- Thousands of years later in a high school classroom...
- Today we will be discussing the evidence supporting the endosymbiotic theory that brought us the modern eukaryotic cell.
- 1) The presence of DNA existing in similar circular capsulations in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells suggest that they were born of the same blueprint.2) Antibiotics. The fact that the prokaryotic cell is susceptible to antibiotics but the eukaryotic cell is not suggests that the eukaryotic cell is stronger. This supports the theory that the eukaryotic cell is an evolved ancestor.
- 3) Both secrete similar enzymes for similar purposes which is a strength of the prokaryotic cell so in evolution it would make sense for the eukaryotic cell not to lose this trait.There is plenty more evidence supporting this theory. However the bells about to ring so this is it.
