- I want a divorce!
- I cannot allow that.
- Welcome to my church, the Church of England.
- I am King Henry VII and I was born on the 28th of June 1491. I was the second born son and second in line for the throne. However, in 1502, my brother died making me heir to the throne. I am well supervised and had very little training until I was 17 when I was crowned.
- King Henry is in the wrong and should not go ahead with the new church.
- Henry wanted a son to carry on his legacy. Catherine was Henry's first wife and she failed to give him a son. Henry wanted to divorce her and find a new wife to give him a son. Although, Pope Clement VII would not allow the divorce to go ahead. He also threaten to excommunicate King Henry if he was to stick to his plans.
- You failed to give me a son, you will now have to die!
- King Henry VII was so angry he decided to break away from the Catholic Church and create his church. So, he created the Church of England. Then King Henry could have sole power and make his own decisions.
- The city of England was spilt as many people thought it was wrong of King Henry to go and create a new Church. Others thought it was right and began to follow the Church of England.
- I believe in the Church of England and that they are right and the Catholic Church is wrong.
- Since, King Henry broke away from the Church, he got to divorce his wife and marry Anne Boleyn. She failed to give him a son after their marriage and was also believed to be unfaithful to Henry. Which then lead to her executed in 1536.
- The Catholic Church developed the Council of Trent in 1545 to right the wrong doings of the Church. By clarifying any doubts of about the catholic doctrines, they were trying to control the situation and get people to come back to the Catholic Church.
