- One summer evening...
- It's a regular evening on Maple Street, and the neighbors are chatting outside.
- Glida: 2
- Conflict
- "Electricity's off. Phone won't work... Radio's gone dead..." (669)
- "What was that? A meteor?" (668)
- "'They don't want us to leave... they shut everything off.'" (671)
- A roar and flash appear out of nowhere. The neighborhood experiences a power cut.
- Glida: 3
- Rising Action
- The neighbors search for the cause of the power loss. Tommy is insisting that an alien family entering their neighborhood and hiding there is to blame.
- Glida: 4
- Climax
- A shadow approaches
- Oh God, it wasn't an intruder, It's Pete Van Horn. He's dead!
- Charlie fires at the shadow, causing it to collapse. Appliances and lights are now turning on and off.
- Glida: 5
- Falling Action
- "'... I didn't know who he was... How was I supposed to know he wasn't a monster or something?...'" (680)
- The neighborhood becomes out of control and turns into an angry mob that breaks windows and takes weapons.
- Glida: 6
- Resolution
- "'... we'll go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves. One to the other... one to the other... one to the other...'" (684)
- We finally zoom out and get to see aliens in a spaceship. They've set up this situation to turn the humans against each other.
- Glida: 0
- Hey, let's not make this a witch hunt.
- It's aliens!
- Hey your car started. Suspicious.
