- Context: Now that the son lives with his dad, he is learning independence and skills his mother never taught him.

- Died of fear/fright from the continuous harassment of his workers.

- The boy had discovered for the first time that his mother could be worried or anxious for him

- Theme: Love what you have while you still have it- The mother was constantly beating and abusing her son. When he got seriously hurt, her mother felt worried and actually showed affection and that she truly cared for him. The son was then willing to hurt himself/put himself in danger just to get love from his own mother.
- Context: The mother resented her son. She saw so much of her ex-husband in him and beat/mistreated him constantly
