Storyboard Text

  • What if they sacrifice our children? The dangers!
  • These savage Indians are polluting our land! Where am I supposed to grow my crops? This is the cotton kingdom! Those Indians will mess up the economy.
  • Our ancestors have been on this land for for centuries. We cannot possibly abandon our sacred and spiritual home that the Englishmen have taken from us. They loot our fields and burn our homes. We have tried to remain peaceful.
  • The Indians can’t have the South! We need that land for crops and livestock. They either need to leave and cross the Mississippi or adapt to civilized ways.
  • We have stolen land from the Indians since our arrival. It is taking the next step into forming a modern society to let them keep their home.
  • These Indians need to be removed! We paid for this land and deserve to live on it! We don’t need uncivilized children in need of guidance rampaging on our crops!
  • However, Indians and Americans are still allowed on each other’s land, as long as the activity is peaceful and legal. Both nationalities can also work on fields in exchange for money or goods. Bartering is allowed as well.
  • Our proposition is this: Indian tribes can each choose a moderate portion of land to own in each state. It has to be approved by the federal government, but they are not allowed to make biased decisions.
  • As long as we are respectful to the Indians, they will be respectful to us. They can teach us techniques for agriculture and in return, we can grant them the support of the federal government.
  • That’s not a bad proposition. It would keep our relations with the Indians friendly and in return, they could teach us about their culture.
  • Furthermore, as we move west, we can buy the land from the natives in exchange for goods and services, as well as permission to stay on the land peacefully. No one has to get hurt.
