Keeping his eyes on the shield Perseus jumped at Medusa using his sickle to cut off her head. She let out a terrible cry and then lay dead. Perseus picked up her head not looking at her still open eyes and put her head in his special bag and sealed it shut. Perseus was very proud of himself and set out on his journey home.
