- How to test for protein ?

- First step of a scientific method is to form a research question.
- Like my research question is How can one test for presence of protein.
- I found out that the test for protein is called Biuret Test and some chemicals like sodium hydroxide and copper sulfate solution are needed to perform the experiment
- Second step of a scientific method is to do background research on the topic.
- The food compound will change its color after being mixed with some chemical
- Third step of a scientific method is to form a hypothesis.
- Fourth step of a scientific method is to do background research on the topic.
- First, we add the food compound to empty test tube. Then, we add water to it. Lastly, we add 2ml of sodium hydroxide and 5 to 6 drops of copper sulfate solution to it and wait for four to five minutes for a reaction
- By adding water, sodium hydroxide, copper sulfate solution to the food component I saw that, after a few minutes the food compound changed its color to violet and this indicates the presence of protein in the food compound
- Fifth step of a scientific method is to do Analyze the data.
