- I am the third estate. I am a peasant. We make up 75-80% of the population. We own 35-40% of the land. We paid all the taxes
- I am the second estate. I am a noble. We make up 2% of the population. We own 20% of the land. We paid almost no taxes.
- I am the first estate. I am priest. The first estate makes up less then 1% of the population. We own 10% of the land. We are exempt from taxes.
- The Estates-General was an assembly comprising the clergy of the French nobles and the middle class.
- The Third Estate created its own group called the National Assembly because they thought it was unfair that they didn't get a vote.
