  • Yes, I am sure. No matter what happen, I'm going to return home.
  • Are you sure about your decision my friend? If I were you just stay here in Europe.
  • After five years of studying and working in Europe, Rizal decided to go back to his hometown, Calamba, Laguna, Philippines.
  • Rizal and his friend Paciano are talking about his decision in returning home which is in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines.
  • In Rizal's letter to Blumentritt, he expressed the reasons why he wants to go back in Calamba. His first reason is that he wanted to treat his mother's eyes. Second, he wanted to serve his fellow Filipinos. Third, he was interested to find out how his novel, Noli Me Tangere, made an effect to his fellow Filipinos and to the Spaniards. Lastly, he wanted to know how was his girlfriend, Leonor Rivera.
  • Thank you for letting me participate our hometown activities, It is a wonderful experience for me .
  • It such an honor for us to have you in our activities and we are thankful that you help us. You are inspiration to the youth to do good things that will help them grow and be better just like you.
  • On August 8, 1887, he reached Calamba. When he arrived his family shed tears of joy upon seeing him. He's been in a foreign country for a long of time that's why his family is very happy when he return home.
  • During his stay in Calamba, Rizal put up a medical clinic and his first patient was his mother. Many people with eye diseases flocked to Rizal 's clinic. He was called by the people as "Doctor Uliman" because he came in Germany. He also collected a reasonable fee for his medical services and he gave free medical service to the poor. Aside from this, he also opened a gymnasium in Calamba. He introduce fencing, gymnastics and shooting for the youth.
  • Jose Rizal is very active in participating activities in his hometown. During his free time, Rizal paints landscapes and he also translated German poems of Von Wildernath into Tagalog. His time in Calamba has been worth it as he do a lot of things that really help his fellow Filipinos. He's been an inspiration to all of the youth as he serve them.
