Hamartia: Okonkwo accidentally kills a young boy during a funeral. He committed a female crime and because of this he must be banished for 7 years.

Peripeta: Onkonwo is banished, his hut is burned down and he must leave with his whole family to his mother's village. During this time Oknonwo is very depressed, all of his barns and wealth are gone and he must start a new life.
