  • The United Nations was formed in 1945 and became an Arena for the Cold War where the United States and the USSR compete, communist vs. non-communist countries.
  • Marshall Plan
  • Churchills speech took place in the United States on March 5, 1946. His speech was very important because he announced the starting of the Cold War. The Iron Curtain was a imaginary line seperating Europe into two areas. 
  • Nato vs. Warsaw Pact 
  • The Trumine Doctrine was a policy made by President Truman that stated the U.S. would provide political, military and economic assistance to democractic nations.

  • President Truman signed this plan on April 3, 1948. It was to aid Western Europe by the United States providing economic assistance and rebuilding Western Europes economy. 
  • The NATO pact was formed to defend the communist Soviet Union. The Warsaw pact was the alliance between the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The NATO and Warsaw were the two main sides in the war. 
  • This was a normal thing in America during the cold war because of the threat of a nuclear attack from the soviet union. They made cartoons like burt the turtle as a way to make people feel safe.
