- In this stage the couple is newly married and just moved in together and their main goal is to adjust to being married and living together.
- The Launching Stage
- The new stage for the couple has changed to now being parents. Their goal is to focus on their first child and create new responsibilities .
- The Mid-Year Stage
- As the daughter becomes a teen she is going to school and learning to be independent. Meanwhile there are some learning lessons that she learns along the way.
- The Aging Stage
- As the child grows up, she graduates and begins her new life at college. The parents are back to reorganizing their life to adjust to their child leaving.
- As the child leaves college she has a kid and the parents become grandparents. The parenting for the parents end and new lives have begun.
- The parents enter this stage and become retired . Breaking away from the employee role. They focus on hobbies and interests as well as grand-parenting.
