- Grendel sneaks up on Beowulf (blond) and his men in the deserted mead-hall. He's ready for a fight.
- Beowulf and Grendel fight a fierce battle in which one man is immediately killed and both main warriors are wounded.
- Beowulf and Grendel struggle violently and finally Beowulf tears the monster's arm off and Grendel falls down dead!
