- I am Olaudah Equiano. I was born in Essaka (Nigeria) in 1745.
- I was kidnapped into slavery at 11 years old and taken to the West Indies and then Virginia.
- I was purchased by a sea captain whom I traveled a lot with.
- I bought my own freedom in 1766 and settled in England, where I became an active abolitionist.
- I became a famous author best known for my autobiography, The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano
- I am upset with the people who sold others into slavery. I am proud of my African heritage and the African way of life.
