Storyboard Text

  • At the Buchanan's house
  • "You know I love you" (116).
  • "what a low, vulgar girl!" (116).
  • "You make it ten times worse by crabbing about it" (126).
  • The Hotel Room
  • "Well, we'd better telephone for an axe" (126).
  • "Why not let her alone, old sport? (126).
  • Tom is Causing A Scene
  • "What kind of row are you trying to cause in my house anyhow?" (129).
  • "He isn't causing a row...You're causing a row" (129).
  • "Go on" (129).
  • The Group is in a shaded area of the Buchanan's household. Gatsby, Tom, Nick, Daisy, and Jordan are trying to escape the heat, so Tom goes out to make them a cold drink. While he is gone Daisy goes over and kisses Gatsby.
  • Daisy never loved Tom
  • "You must be crazy!" (130).
  • "Please don't!" (130).
  • "Your wife doesn't love you... She's never loved you. She loves me" (130).
  • Even though they are inside the Hotel room, Daisy and everyone else is still hot. Daisy complains and Tom rudely responds to her. Gatsby backs up Daisy and it began to irritate Tom.
  • Bringing Up Wolfsheim
  • "Walter could have had you up on the betting laws too, but Wolfsheim scared him into shutting his mouth...you've got something on now that Walter's afraid to tell me about" (134).
  • While in the hot hotel room Tom and Gatsby start to bicker at each other. What is first brought up is Gatsby sensitive background, which he doesn't like to share. Tom does not beleieve what Gatsby is telling him. Tom then asks him another question that angers Gatsby and Daisy.
  • Myrtle Dies
  • While Gatsby and Tom are arguing, they begin to argue over Daisy. Daisy is desperate to go home before Gatsby says something rash. However, Gatsby tells Tom that Daisy never loved him. Tom is very upset by this and does not believe him until Daisy agrees with him.
  • After Daisy confesses that she loves Gatsby, she breaks down and admits that she loves them both. However, Tom does not want to lose her so he brings up Gatsby's background again. He tells everyone about Gatsby and Wolfsheim. He claims that Gatsby has gotten his money illegally.
  • When Tom allows Daisy and Gatsby to leave the hotel room in Gatsby's car, Tom, Jordan, and Nick leaves in his. Gatsby decides to let Daisy drive and Daisy crashes her car into Myrtle, who had happened to run into the street. Myrtle ends up dead.
