Storyboard Text

  • Protagonist, Setting
  • Greetings!
  • Good evening.
  • Verbal Irony
  • Let's go to your vaults, I mean what is the worst that can happen?
  • I must warn you, the vaults are extremely cold and damp.
  • Mood
  • * Cough Cough *
  • Certainly.
  • Are you certain that you want to proceed?
  • After drinking a fair share of beverages, I was delighted to see Montresor. Although he seemed to be in a foul mood and did not look enthusiastic which does not make sense considering we were at a carnival.
  • Foreshadowing, Symbolism
  • Seems odd, but alright... just hand me the bottle!
  • You can see when the large human foot is crushing the serpent. While doing so, the serpent is quick to bite back. I believe that signifies one getting revenge.
  • I felt the urge to explore Montresor's vaults in order to prove that I knew more about wine than Luchesi. In all honesty, Luchesi can not differentiate Sherry from Amontillado.
  • Situational Irony, Rising Action
  • You and your family are a disgrace to this town! How dare you promote "wine" when it's just a cheap substance!
  • My cough will not stop me from proving myself, and I will admit that pride was leading me on. I noticed that we were the only ones in the house, it's most likely because everyone was outside enjoying the festival.
  • External Conflict
  • Please Fortunato! I beg you! What if we negotiate something? How about money?
  • As my acquaintance was handing me a bottle of wine, he was explaining what the family crest looked like and its motto. While Montresor was talking he seemed to get excited when describing the foot crushing a serpent.
  • When I took a sip of the "wine" I realized that it tasted a lot like champagne, him and his family have been lying to the public! Once I made this realization, I threw the bottle at Montresor and exclaimed he was a fraud that knew nothing about running a business!
  • I angrily walked away to go upstairs and tell everyone at the party about my discovery. Pathetically, Montresor was behind me pleading and bargaining money which at this point I did not care for.
