- The Host tells the Pardoner to cheer everyone up after the Physician's depressing tale. He starts preaching about how he wants everyone to buy his relics so their sins could be forgiven and so he can get more money.
- Climax
- Three men eating and drinking outside of a barhear a funeral bell and an old servant comes to declare that one of their friends has been killed by mysterious figure known as Death. They embark on a journey to find Death to get revenge on him.
- Falling Action
- The three men don't want to face reality and accept Death. Instead, they'd rather kill Death before he can go on to kill anyone else especially being one of them.
- Resolution
- Upon arriving, they play a game where whoever draws the shortest straw has to go get food and wine. The youngest one draws the shortest straw and goes to get food and wine for the three of them. The other two plan to murder him once he comes back. They stab him to death.
- They then just want to relax and forget about what crime they've just committed. They start drinking and eating all of the food and wine that the youngest one has brought while he's dead.
- Indeed they all meet the mysterious figure Death.
