- WHAT, the king is dead!? ME? KING? I'm just his deputy, what could I possibly do as king
- In 1312, Mansa Musa became ruler of the Mali Empire after his predecessor, Abu-Bakr II. He went missing on a voyage at sea. Mansa Musa served him as a deputy and was the closest to the king.
- The king is dead. You will succeed to the throne and become king.
- I will make the Mali Empire great and known!! Watch out world! Here we come!!
- In 1324, Mansa Musa went on a pilgrimage to fulfil the Hajj. On this Pilgrimage Mansa Musa brought with him a caravan that included ens of thousands of soldiers, slaves and heralds, draped in Persian silk and carrying golden staffs. This gave the outside world a glimpse of his new profound wealth.
- FINE, I surrender. I shall kiss your feet.
- As Mansa Musa arrived in Cairo. He was greeted in Cairo by a subordinate of al-Nasir, who invited him to meet with the fellow monarch. Mansa Musa declined the offer claiming that he was only passing through on his pilgrimage to Mecca. It was really because he didn't want to have to kiss the monarch's feet and bow down to him. For he was a monarch too. They end up conversating, The monarch gets his bow while Mansa Musa gets lodging for him and his caravan
- NO, I refuse to kiss your feet. I am a king too, not some lowly commoner!
- Since you kissed my feet, I will now offer you and your caravan lodging on your trip
- You are in my territory now, your king title doesn't matter. You MUST pay your respects to me as king.
- You must bow to me and kiss my feet and the king of the great nation.
