- My dad has been a firefighter for almost 15 years now. With my dad being gone half the week (he works night shifts) I’ve learned to become more independent and not rely on my parents for everything.
- Living in Chicago Vs. Wilmette has showed me all the different life styles we have based on where we live. In Chicago I felt like their wasn’t as much opportunity because I was and younger it’s not as safe, and the schools education weren’t great. Now I feel like all of those things have changed on a large scale and NT being apart of it.
- Me and Max's relationship is very special. I’ve learned to cherish that and never take it for granted. Anyone would be lucky to have a sibling just as caring and kind as Max is. And not to mention how much he looks out for me.
- Going to Exuma exposed me to a whole new perspective on how people live. I didn’t just learn about a new place, but I also learned to relate with people living in different parts of world that look unlike mine. In Exuma, they are dependent on the US for resource whereas in Wilmette most people get things handed to them (good lesson in life).
- Being not only apart of a big family, but the oldest kid in my family has changed my life. It’s taught me to always make the right decision, to be a role model for my younger siblings, and to always treat others the way you want to be treated. Growing up my sister had a hard time in school so as her big sister I had to be their for her and tell her it’s alright.
