- Where have you been Ponyboy you have missed curfew!(Hits Ponyboy)
- Whats happening here is Ponyboy was late past 12pm so Darry is mad at him so he will get yelled at they get into an argument and it gets heated. So Darry gets so mad at Ponyboy he loses control and hits him.
- I was with Johnny and me and him fell asleep so don't blame me!
- I can't believe that Darry would hit me like that. I'm never coming back because no one ever hit me.
- After the argument Ponyboy runs away from his home and crys. He ask Johnny to come with him no questions asked and Johnny comes. They run really far and stop to talk.
- After running for a while Johnny and Ponyboy stop and talk. Johnny explains to Ponyboy that Darry cares about him and he still lies to himself that Darry does not love him. He starts crying.
- Why do you think Darry would hit me and yell at me he probably won't even care if i leave and he would probably be happy.
- No Ponyboy he cares about you and he loves you hes just strict and rough on you because he cares.
