- Natural Selection: the differential survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype.
- Evolution: the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
- Variation. Organisms (within populations) exhibit individual variation in appearance and behavior.
- Inheritance: the process by which genetic information is passed on from parent to child.
- Selection: the preferential survival and reproduction or preferential elimination of individuals with certain genotypes, by means of natural or artificial controlling factors.
- Time and Adaptation: that traits that can be passed down allow organisms to adapt to the environment better than other organisms of the same species
