CASE OF RUINED ROSES

- Nina and Max were talking about a program on UFO's as they walked down the street when they heard a loud scream coming from Coach Thornton's house.
- They ran into the yard where the coach was staring at ten rose bushes that had been pulled from the ground. Coach Thornton looked disgusted and thought that it was his three of his best football players who did it because they were pretty mad at Coach Thornton for punishing them.
- Nina and Max helped Coach Thornton replant the roses. Then he invited them in for milk and cookies. They talked about Sam Cartland, Mike Brooks, and Alex Avery then left with an idea to nose around a little.
- Nina saw Alex at the Dairy Bar and Alex looked up as they came in. They asked him where have he been all morning and they find out he helped Amy carry in a heavy box and he wasn’t mad at Coach Thornton.
- After they left, Nina looked down the street and saw Sam Cartland's house. They talked with Sam and they found out he was watching a program on UFO's between nine and ten this morning. Max, trying not to look bored said they have to get going so they left.
- They went nosing around again and thought they would find Mike Brooks working out at the gym. They found him on the treadmill. Nina with a smile went back to the desk after looking at the logbook. Sure enough, Mike had signed in at five of nine. Nina groaned because they did not know who the culprit was.
