- During 1878 Cyprus island came under the rule of the British. The island consist of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. The majority of Greek Cypriots wanted to stop the British rule.

- Because many organisations started to attack the British. By 1960 the British decided that Cyprus should be an independent nation where the citizens decide how to govern.Empathy: By listening to the citizens of Cyprus island and what they want.

- Cyprus island became a republic but after a few years violence was brought because of disagreements of the Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

- In 1974 the Turkish called for a ceasefire where there will be peace for some time.

- The year 2004 the UN reunification plan was created but the Greek rejected the plan.Accountability: The UN decided to come in between to help solve the conflict.
- After further Negotiation with the UN by 2014 Cyprus island was split into two section for the Turkish and Greeks. The British also owned some land. Facilitation and Mediation: Negotiating, talking to each other and coming to an agreement which benefits both
