- May 17, 1954 was a decsion by the U.S Supreme Court that made a decision that rued the U.S laws that made separating children in public schools based on race was unconstitutional.
- Freedom Riders
- The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a protest for civil rights that was started by African Americans and was an act of refusing to ride city buses in Montogmery
- Voting Rights Act of 1965
- Little Rock Nine was made up of a group of 9 African American students enrolled in Little Rock Central High School that cause the Little Rock Crisis where the students were initially prevented from being allowed in the segregated school.
- Civil Rights Act 1968
- The Freedom Riders were civil rights activists who would ride the interstate buses into the segregated Southern U.S in the 1961
- THe Voting Rights Act was signed to overcome legal barriers at the state.
- The Civil Rights Act prohibited discrimination against sale, retail and financing.
