Storyboard Text

  • Making Permenet SheltersbyLily Stacy & Stella Larson
  • In the Paleolithic Age, people used caves or rough-looking tent structures for shelter. They were temporary because they were nomads who moved to different places often so they could find new food and follow the food/animals they were already hunting.
  • Our houses were made up of mud, bricks, stones, and tree branches. Our walls and rooftops were very strong because we packed everything together very tight. Also, our houses were more permanent.
  • To cook or store food we dug a hole into the floor and lined it with clay. Some people may have put water in the hole and drop in hot stones to make the water boil for cooking.
  • Our development of permanent shelters are important becasue it protects us from wild animals and bad weather. Also, our more permanent shelters helped people settle together in larger communities.
  • Our development of permanent shelters helped our lives be more comfortable. Our shelters also provided us great protection against wild animals and tough weather. Also they were great to settle in big communities and we could make food in new ways.
