- What actions does Stella take?
- Kennedy is giving Stella a tour of her apartment and introducing her to her boyfriend, "I never said he wasn't. But he walks around like he"s the smartest person in the room" (Bennett 277). Stella doesn't like the fact that Kennedy is dating someone who is African American
- Kennedy hands Stella the photograph that Jude gave her, "'What's this?"' she asked, tilting her head to look at it." It's from your father's funeral," Kennedy said." (Bennett 297). Stella was confused on how Kennedy got this photo. Stella realized that she couldn't lie to Kennedy much longer.
