Storyboard Text

  • Saul sent out murderous threats against Jesus' disciples. He continues the persecution of the church by traveling to Damascus in an attempt to arrest Jesus' followers. Before he reaches the city, Jesus confronts him with a light shining from heaven, where Saul falls to the ground.
  • Saul's Conversion (Acts 9:1-6 USCCB)
  • Who are you, sir?
  • I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.
  • Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
  • (Acts 9:7-9 USCCB)
  • The men who were with Saul were speechless, since they heard the voice but saw no one. Saul got punished by becoming blind and not being able to eat or drink for 3 days.
  • Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil things he has done to your holy ones in Jerusalem. And here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call upon your name.
  • Jesus asked a disciple named Ananias in a vision to restore Saul's sight. However, Ananias hesitated at first.
  • (Acts 9:10-16 USCCB)
  • Go to the street called Straight and ask at the House of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and lay his hands on him, that he may regain his sight.
  • Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and Israelites, and I will show him what he will have to suffer for my name.
