- Once upon a time, a diwata lived in a mountain of Laguna. She was called Maria Makiling. She has light olive skin, long shining black hair and twinkling eyes. She was breathtakingly beautiful.
- Maria had a strong desire to assist people. She aided the needy on a regular basis by giving them fruits, which were claimed to change into gold when they were returned to her.
- The townspeople had grown to adore Maria as a result of her benevolence. Maria possessed a stunning appearance. Many suitors came looking for her and wooed her. Three of them were adamant on obtaining her.
