- Thanks for coming to the ecosystem cruise. Our first stop is an underground tunnel. This ecosystem is a habitat for underground animals. There is also an animal community with several species living together. The carrying capacity is about 48,000 animals that can make a proper food chain. The abiotic factors in this ecosystem are the dirt and rocks. The biotic factors of this ecosystem are the badger, bunny and the fruit bat.
- The Rainforest
- Our second stop is a savannah. This ecosystem is a habitat for animals adapted to warm weather. In this community, there are herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and scavengers (e.g. vultures). The grass and the tree are producers because they make their own food and support the food chain/web. The bird eats the bugs that bother the elephant (mutualism).
- The Sunset
- Our third stop is a river bed. The otter is a predator of crawfish. The number of crawfish in the river is a limiting factor for the river otter population. On the side of the river, there is a hungry baby wolf. In the wolf's fur, there are fleas. That is called parasitism.

- Our fourth stop is a rain forest canopy. The ecology of this rain forest is very complex due to the wide variety of species that inhabit it. Different types of birds eat the fungi on the trees. A fungus is a decomposer which breaks down the dead tree bark.
- Our last stop is an ocean habitat. The dolphins are traveling in pairs. There is a mom and a baby. The dolphins benefit because there are no boats or predators that can hurt them. The dolphins round up schools of fish so they can eat them. This forces the fish to the surface of the ocean where the cormorants can feed (commensalism).
