  • The reason why I summon you guys are I think we have some financial problems so, let's talk about the solutions.

  • On 5 May 1789, Louis XVI called a meeting of the Estates General. He called the meeting because the French government was having financial problems.

  • Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen1. “men are born and remain free and equal in rights”2. "It was specified as the rights of liberty, private property, the inviolability of the person, and resistance to oppression"6. All citizens were equal before the law and were to have the right to participate in legislation directly or indirectly
  • On 20 June 1789, The Tennis Court Oath showed the growing unrest against Louis XVI. Also, it helped ensure that a new constitution would be made in order to reform French society. This was one of the iconic scenes of the French Revolution and this was significant because it signified the first French citizens going against Louis XVI.

  • The short French Constitution of 1791 was the first written constitution in France, created after the collapse of the absolute monarchy.
  • On 14 July 1789, The Storming of Bastille was a medieval fortress and prison that was attacked by citizens. The prison became a symbol of the monarchy's dictatorial rule.

  • On 26 August 1789, The newly formed National Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of Man. The Declaration was intended to set forth rules that would make everyone in society equal and give everyone equal rights.
  • It is a human civil rights document from the French Revolution. It became the basis for a nation of free individuals protected equally by the law.
  • In 1791, a new Constitution set up a new government that can give the people more power or says than they had before. However, this new government faced a lot of opposition with some people wanting more reform.

  •  This made people believe King was guilty and more people sided with the side of the revolution. On 20 July 1791, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette attempted to flee France on the night but, they were caught at Varennes.
