  • EXPOSITION
  • "Football try outs in two months..."
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • There once was a boy named Larry who always wanted to be a part of his school's football team. His father used to be the star linebacker of the team years ago when he too was in high school and Larry wanted to continue his legacy.
  • CLIMAX
  • I don't know how much more I can take, my legs feel so weak and sore...
  • Larry wanted to be a linebacker but he was afraid that he didn't have the muscles for it. He talked to the coach and he was right, he needed to gain more weight and muscle for the position.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • "No pain, No gain!"
  • Larry realized the only way he will get the results he needed was to start going to the gym to work out. So, he consistently started going four times a week and had hope he will get into the right shape before try outs.
  • RESOLUTION
  • "Congradulations, Larry!"
  • Almost a month into Larry's training, his body was beyond sore in every place imaginable. He didn't know if he was doing the right thing to himself and his body. He started to rethink his decision.
  • Later that night, Larry decided to talk with his father about how he was feeling with all of the training. He explained how his body was aching and sore, that he was having second thoughts. His father explained to him that in the end, the pain he is in now will later be worth the gain of his spot on the team.
  • Larry took his father's advice and continued with his training. Two and a half months later after try outs, the football team's coach offered him his dream position of being a linebacker. In the end, all of his hard work and pain really paid off.
