- Tyrone and Afton were the best of friends. They had been friends since kindergarten. They were always seen hanging out with each other, playing games on their laptops in class. Even though they disagreed with each other sometimes, their friendship would still stand strong and unbreakable.
- The Plan
- Hi Jamal, have you heard from Tyrone recently?
- Jamal
- One day, Afton was playing video games at Tyrone's house and Afton won against Tyrone. Tyrone was infuriated as that was his favourite game which he played on often, and was disappointed to lose despite the fact that he practised a lot. Afton laughed and mocked him without second thoughts. Immediately, Tyrone stomped out of his house in rage. Afton laughed it off thinking that it was a joke.
- The Tragedy
- It's going to be okay, we'll always be there for you no matter what the situation is.
- The next day, when Afton called out to Tyrone at the entrance of the school, Tyrone ignored him. Negative thoughts flooded Afton's mind as he started to get worried. Remembering how enraged Tyrone was with him yesterday, he started to think that it had something to do with it.
- Happiness at Last
- Last lap come on!
- Cheese!
- Negative thoughts flooded Afton's mind. Was their friendship going to end? Afton decided to try and contact another one of Tyrone's close friends, Jamal, but he had not heard from Tyrone either. Both of them decided not to give up hope and plan to confront Tyrone to find out the reason behind all of this.
- How about we do it after school?
- Okay, bye Jamal
- Not at all, he's been avoiding me ever since, even my messages! I think we should find a way to confront him.
- Sure! See you then.
- After school, Afton and Jamal followed Tyrone to the benches beside the running track to confront him. Tyrone sighed as he held back stinging tears while he explained to them that his grandmother had unfortunately passed away. Afton and Tyrone paused for a moment to take in the information before patting his back and comforting him.
- Sorry for your loss.
- My condolences.
- From that day on, Afton and Jamal decided to give Tyrone more space knowing the fact that it will take a while for him to recover from this tragedy and revert back to his old self. At the same time, even if they could not do anything about his grandmother's passing, Afton and Tyrone constantly supported and encouraged him to the best of their abilities. Despite the rocky path their friendship had taken, they saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and remained good friends to this day.
