- Babylon attacks Jerusalem
- I am Daniel and these are my three friends, Micheal, Hannaniah and Azariah. the people behind us are fleeing because we are being attacked by Babylon.
- Attack!!!
- David and his friends are recruited to serve for Babylon, but must give up their Jewish identity
- we will never leave our god! there is only one true god, and we will not leave him!
- you must worship our god and eat like us, or you will pay the price.
- Get him!
- Daniel becomes a prophet
- fine, but only ten days, and if you arent as fit, you will be punished.
- please let us eat like we used to, just give ten days and you'll see, we'll be just as fit as the others.
- the people in Jerusalem are being forced to flee Jerusalem because of the Babylonians attacking them. they become the first wave of exiles. Daniel became a prophet due to the fact that there was a lot of war going on around him. the point of Daniel is a pattern and a promise for all generations to come, and also to show that if people disobey gods command and see themselves as king, they will be punished as god is the one and only true king.

- David, you are now a prophet with the skill of interpreting somebody dreams and visions.
- they refuse to give up Jewish identity and are put in danger because they wont give up their Jewish god. this is resolved by God forgiving them and they are elevated by the King of Babylon. furthermore, they also have to eat how the Babylonians do, but refuse and are sentenced to death. this was when he was put in the lions den by Nebuchadnezzar.

- oh no , how am i going to do this. i should just try to tame them, and not act as a threat.
- after the ten day trial, the four were just as fit as the others, and were allowed to continue eating like they were used to eating. in addition, the four were granted the skill in philosophy and literature for obeying gods commmands, but daniel got an extra ability, causing him to become a prophet.
- Daniels dream
- Daniel is having a dream of animals crossed with other animals. these animals represent different towns. there were three animals, but there was one which had many horns (horns represent kings) and one big horn (representing a big evil king.
- after the king allowed Daniel and his friends to eat vegetables and water, God gave him and his friends skill in philosophy and literature. in addition, he gave Daniel the skill of being able to interpret dreams and visions.
- you may all continue eating and drinking how you wish.
- this is the punishment for Daniel not obeying the Babylonian king, and refusing to eat like them and worship their God
- daniels has now interpreted many dreams of others, but he is struggling to interpet his own. this dream is about kings and towns and how the kings would rebel. he needed a messenger to help him understand this dream.
