- It was the morning of January 29, when Mark realised that was his mother’s birthday. Keen on the occasion, he took out all his savings and started to think about what will be the very perfect gift for sweet Charlotte, the way he used to call her.
- I have to go to Brown street, maybe there I would find something special or maybe, with some luck, even a piece of jewelry.
- The snow wouldn’t stop him, so he wore the warmest clothes and decided to go out. He started walking but when he arrived at Franklin Avenue, he saw in the distance this magnificent new bakery, believing it would be an excellent choice, he got inside and tried to buy a cake.
- Hi, can anybody help me? I want to buy a huge cake for my mom
- Mark was impressed by the smells of the bakery, at first was butter and then a little bit of sugar, but with a pinch of vanilla.
- Hello little one, you came to the right place. If you want a cake like this, you will need 80 dollars.
- Loyal to his persevering personality, Mark remembered that a few days ago his mom told him about this astonishing overcoat. In that moment, he knew he had to go to Stafford boutique.He knocked on the door and a clumsy but also fussy lady opened it. Immediately, he asked for the overcoat.
- Mark sought out his savings and noticed that wasn’t enough. Disappointed, left the shop and continued walking; but he would never give up, he wanted something as valuable as her mom’s love. However, he noticed that nothing will be nearly as good as that.
- Do you have any idea where the overcoat is? I’m trying to get it for my mom’s birthday.
- Mark couldn’t stand the news, but he has a silver lining and realised that he didn’t need an expensive gift and that his mom would be pleased with a small dinner. He sped up his walking and accepted the help of his grandpa, entrusted him with some assignments.
- Sorry man, at the moment it’s sold out.
- A few hours later, Charlotte arrived and was shocked by Mark’s surprise, saying it was the best birthday of her life.
- Grandpa thanks for bringing this amazing feast. I should've called you from the beginning. Thank god, we always see eye to eye. I will have finished the decoration by the time my mom arrives.
