  • The year is 1931. The Dust Bowl is an ongoing problem to many in the Midwest, a struggle only made worse by an ever decaying economy. Mr. Johnson, an elderly man who has , made his living with his popular farmer's market, is rapidly becoming impoverished by these unfortunate circumstances.
  • God help me. I don't know what to do anymore. Nearly all my crops are gone and I'm losing money so quickly. Why is this happening to me?
  • THIS IS NOT ENOUGH! At this rate, I won't have enough money to support me or my family for another year!
  • Tax rates reduced according to income:.5% for incomes below 4,000$2% on incomes from 4,000$-8,000$4% for incomes over 8,000$
  • In 1933, the Agricultural Adjustment act gave farmers subsidies in exchange for a limit on certain crops being grown.
  • Look, sir. We can only provide a subsidy if you agree to only grow certain crops. It's the best way to get the economy back on track.
  • This is not fair! I need all the money I can get. More crops will expand my market and earn me more money.
