  • That rich guy from the Seattle said he'll pay good money for this labour!
  • Almost done. Phew this is hard work.
  • Upon hearing this news, numerous people would attempt to move closer to the gold. An estimate of around 100,000 people tried to relocated to what is now Yukon all. Many saw this as a opportunityto for a better life.

  • If only I went right and not left...
  • There was many routes to the gold. Different routes had different advantages and disadvantages. One of the most popular routes to the gold was through the Chilkoot pass which was a mountain with that was difficult to traverse. Another route was using a boat to sail to Yukon.

  • In a span of 2 years, the capital of Yukon, Dawson City grew about 5400% from a small town of 555 residents, to a mining centric city of around 30,000. The settlement developed along with the rest of the Yukon territory. In 1898 the region was made an official Canadian territory under the Yukon Act.
  • When will the house be done?!
  • Soon sir!
  • Summers here!
  • What?? You guys call this Summer?! Its still chilly out!
  • During the Klondike Gold Rush mining was hard. Gold would primarily be found in large pockets, 100 people could go out, find nothing and one could go out and be rich for life, these pockets were often unpredictably located. Mining was also slowed due to permafrost, and brutal arctic weather for half the year.
  • I'M GONNA BE RICH FOR LIFE!!
  • After just 3 years, the what is known as Klondike Gold Rush ended just like any other gold rush would've. Most people headed back to the states, some rich, some poor and tired. Ever since then Dawson city, and the territory have seen major declines in population. The now almost desolate Dawson City is no longer the capital of Yukon. In 1953 Whitehorse became the capital of the Canadian territory.
  • Farewell Yukon, I hope to see you again, except next time going back to the states rich, and not poor.
