Storyboard Text

  • Hey dad I'm working on a project from science class that involves the cell cycle and I am not sure what comes first and what they are about. Since you know most things I need your help.
  • No problem, It is easy to understand when you really know what is happening in each stages. Lets see..
  • ..In the first stage known of the cell cycle prophase this where cells are prepare to divide. It will end up moving to the s phase where the cells ends up copying the DNA. Plus with in interphase it is one of the longer part of the cell it is where the cell grows and copies other chromosomes but we won't get into all that right now
  • The second stage is metaphase separating the duplicated genetic material carried in the nucleus into a parent cell into two identical daughter cells. They will end up lining up together. The nucleus envelope barrier will eventually break down.
  • The anaphase will pull away from each other from opposite sides by spindle fiber.
  • Finally the last step of mitosis is telophase nuclear membranes will form around the new sets of chromosomes. The spindle fiber goes away and will loosen and be visible to see. The cells will start to make cells.
  •
  • Lastly when mitosis is completed the cells are in cytokensis and the identical cells are left with 23 chromosomes.
