  • Reproduction & Genetic Code
  • Wood frogs attract mates by making a quacking sound.
  • Cells
  • A wood frog is a multicellular and eukaryote creature.
  •
  • Growth, Development, & Evolution
  • The wood frog is born inside of an egg. Soon after, it will hatch into a tadpole. A few months after growing legs, wood frogs will start to grow in size.
  • The offspring's genetic code will be a combination of the parent's genes. Wood frogs reproduce sexually.
  • Stimuli & Response
  • Multicellular - more than one cell. Eukaryote - an organism with a nucleus.
  • Metabolism
  • Wood frogs are heterotrophs and carnivores. They use their food for energy.
  • Due to evolution, the wood frog in the winter will find a place to perform something called "anti-freeze". Many other animals have evolved to fit different scenarios such as the wood frog has.
  • Homeostasis
  • Wood frogs are endothermic organisms, meaning they can produce their own heat. They need to keep eating, releasing what they've eaten and sleep. On the more outside standpoint, they would prefer more summertime heating.
  •
  • This wood frog was spooked by a predator, so it jumps in the river.
  • Heterotroph means that the organism can't make its own food.
