  • What's wrong Maribel?
  • It's hard for me to breathe sometimes and my nose is so runny!

  • THINGS YOU CAN DO
  • Protect our right to breathe clean air.
  • Maribel's doctor explained that Environmental Justice areas often have higher health risks, including higher asthma rates.
  • BCNS and the Peabody Health Dept. are working together to install seve air quality monitors around the city.
  • Join Breathe Clean North Shore's fight for no more fossil fuels and clean air.https://www.facebook.com/BreatheCleanNS
  • No Gas Stoves
  • Get an Air Purifier
  • Get involved in protecting our air.
  • Cooking on a gas stove releases nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde, chemicals that have been connected with negative health conditions like asthma, with particular risk to children. One study found that gas stoves can create levels of nitrogen dioxide indoors exceeding the legal limits for outdoor air.
  • HEPA filters are made of sheets with loosely and randomly interlaced fibers that are collected into a “V” configuration and fixed into a rigid polyurethane frame. This design captures the maximum amount of extremely small dust particles. Due to the highly absorbent pores of a HEPA air filter, particles cannot flow back into circulation.
