- Annemarie rushed down the stairs to find her mother and help her up. She says that she had tripped on a tree root and had broken her ankle and couldn't get up on her own. Annemarie helps her inside and makes some tea. She needs to call a doctor immediately and get help and proper care. Then Annemarie noticed something on the floor, it was the package that Mr. Rosen needed to take with him.
- Annemarie tells her mother that she will run as fast as she can and get this to him. She didn't have much time because the boat was going to leave very soon. She starts heading towards the path and tries to run. Unfortunately, she can't really run because of all the tree roots. As see is traveling along the path she is thinking about telling stories to Kirsti while she lied in bed falling asleep.
- As she is thinking and running, she runs into some unwanted people. It is four soldiers nd two mean dogs. Feeling scared, she remembers what her mother told her to do. So, she remains calm and hides the package. She wants to help her mother but she also needs to get this package to Mr. Rosen.
