ACT ONE

- ACT ONE SCENE ONE: Francisco and Bernardo tell Horatio that they have seen an apparition that they believe to be is Hamlets dad. Horatio does not believe them so he decides to wait with them to see if they ghost will come back and talk to him.
- ACT ONE SCENE TWO: Queen Gertrude and Claudius get married soon after Hamlets dads death. Hamlet is still grieving over the death and is told by Claudius that grieving is a way of showing weakness and that "it shows ignorance and untrained intellect"
- ACT ONE SCENE THREE: Laertes is saying goodbye to Ophelia, and warns her of Hamlet. Saying that Hamlet is Royal and will put the kingdom before her and he that he does not want Hamlet breaking her heart. Polonius comes and continues to warn Ophelia from Hamlet. She obeys.
- ACT ONE SCENE FOUR: Hamlet, Horatio, and Marcellus have seen the ghost. Hamlet wants to follow the ghost but Horatio and Marcellus try to stop Hamlet, but he does not fear a someone that is "immortal".
- ACT ONE SCENE FIVE: Hamlet does not obey Horatio and Marcellus and follows the ghost. That is when the ghost speaks to him and tells him how he really died, that Claudius, his brother and put poison in his ear when he was sleeping.
- ACT ONE SCENE FIVE: After the ghost had told Hamlet that Claudius was the murder he wanted Hamlet to seek revenge and pour poison down Claudius's ear. The ghost had also told Hamlet that his mother was adulterous with Claudius and to let the Gods judge her, to not seek revenge on her.
