  • This is a dam. They also invented levees that prevent the river from flooding and it gave them the amount of water they need to grow crops.

  • This is a seeder plow.It is used for farming. Cows and bulls pulled it so it would be easier
  • Mesopotamia was in modern day Iraq. It was in between two rivers, the Tigris river and the Euphrates river. Mesopotamia was a part of the fertile crescent which made the soil very good to plant crops and farm on.

  • In Mesopotamia they began to get monsoons and floods. All of this extra water was ruining their crops. So because of this the people build dams levees and dikes which stopped the water.The dams acted as gate, the levees where able to lower and rise to slow down speed up and stop the water, last but not least dikes are tall embankments that kept water from getting to the rivers.

  • Today we have to prepare supper for the family and tidy up around the house.
  • The Mesopotamian people wanted an easier way to farm or something to help with the job, so they made things like the seeder plow. The seeder plow was a tool used to create a small pit in the ground and then drop a seed inside of it. the seeder plow is still a tool we use today for farming.

  • In Mesopotamia people believed in Polytheism. Polytheism is when they believed in many different gods. The Mesopotamian's built things called ziggurats which where used so that the gods could come down to earth from the ziggurat.
  • In Mesopotamia women had three main roles that they were described as. They were either a daughter, a wife, or a mother. Women were not allowed an education, they had to do things around the house like cook.
  • Mesopotamia had social pyramids that put people and their jobs on a chart from most power to least power. At the top of the social pyramid there were kings, because they were believed to have the most power. Next there where priests, then the merchants,scribes, and artisans. In the last two spots there where farmers and finally there where slaves who had no power at all.
