Storyboard Text

  • "No longer shall your name be Abram but your name shall be Abraham, and you no longer call your wife Sarai but shall call her Sarah"
  • "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that i shall show you."
  • When Abram was 99 years old god changed his name to ‘Abraham’ and also changes his wife's name from ‘Sarai’ to ‘Sarah’. God said to Abraham that he'll be blessed by a son and that you shall call him Isaac.
  • "Yes Abraham"
  • "You shall stay here with the donkey as I will go with Isaac up the mountain to offer the burnt offering"
  • After a few years of Isaac's birth God wanted to test Abraham if he had so he commanded Abraham to offer his only son sacrifice Isaac. Abraham loved Isaac very dearly but he didn't want to disobey God so he had to sacrifice Isaac. God told Abraham to take Isaac to Mt. Moriah and sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering .
  • So Abraham got his donkey and took two young men and his son up to the mountains. After three long days of traveling, they got to the land of Moriah. Abraham told the two young men to stay down with his donkey as he and Isaac went up to the mountain. They both carried wood up to the top of the hill.

  • Whilst they were walking up to the top of the hill Isaac asked Abraham where the lamb was to sacrifice and Abraham said to him “Don’t worry son, God will provide”. Once they got up to the top Abraham built an altar out of the wood. He felt guilty about sacrificing his son but he knew that it was the right thing to do.
  • Abraham then laid his son on the altar that he had made with the wood. He then tied Isaac up. Then got his knife out. But then the Angel of the Lord spoke to Abraham and said do not lay your hands on Isaac, now I know that you fear the lord.
  • Abraham looked up and saw that a goat had gotten stuck by its horns in a thick bush. Abraham then took the goat and used that as a burnt offering instead of offering his son Isaac. God knew that Abraham trusted in God because even though he had to sacrifice his son he still obeyed God.
