Storyboard Text

  • Gassire decided to sacrifice his 8 sons so their blood can be absorbed by the lute and be played. Each day, he invites one of his sons to fight alongside him and each one die, with each of their blood being dripped to the lute.
  • Before the eight day, the people of Dierra angrily spoke to Gassire. They told him that only a few will accompany him and that he should leave this place as soon as possible as they don't want someone who fights without sense or limit.
  • Gassire, together with his last and youngest son, his wives, friends and Boroma rode out into the desert. Few left Gassire during the journey and few stayed.
  • They rode all day and all night so they decided to rest. Gassire sat beside the fire while the others slept. He suddenly jumped when he heard a sound played from the lute. The lute sang the Dausi!
  • When the lute sung for the first time, King Nganamba died. When the lute sung for the first time, Gassire's rage melted and he wept. When the lute was sung for the first time, Wagadu disappeared for the first time.
  • When Gassire struck the lute, it did not sing. Gassire told the smith which answered that the lute won't play unless Gassire will hand something in exchange.
