- It was cold outside and it was raining.Mr. White and his son are sitting by the fire playing chess. While Sargent Magor Moress is telling them a story about the monkey's paw. He was saying that the other guys last wish was to die because the reactions to the wish were so bad.
- climax
- The Sargent wanted to destroy the monkey's paw but Mr white pulled it out of the fire and he didn't know what to wish for, so his son told him to wish for 200 pounds so he could pay off the house.
- falling action
- The monkey's paw moved after he made his wish. His son went to work and got stuck in one of the machines. He died and the money that they received was 200 pounds. A couple of days later the mom realized they had more wishes so she told him to wish her son alive again.
- resolution
- The dad could only identify him by his clothing so he would be all mangled. They heard the knocking on the door and she ran down the stairs and was trying to open the door but she couldn't get it.He wishes herbert to go back to his grave ad the knocking stops.
- She finally gets the door open.
