- When Roald Dhal was young, he often stopped at a candy store with his friends on his way to school.
- Candy Store
- The lady who ran the candy store Mrs. Pratchett was very mean, so Roald Dhal snuck a rat into a candy jar as a prank when she wasn't looking.
- When Roald Dhal went to the store the next day, the jar was smashed on the floor with the rat lying in between the shards. Roald Dhal new he was in trouble.
- Closed
- Once he got off the bus, Mrs. Pratchett was waiting for them by the school gate. She pointed them out to the principle and Roald Dhal new he was about to get punished.
- Roald Dhal and his friends were given the cane, which left large bruises on him. He was then sent straight to home, where his mother was unpleased.
- That's the end of this story! Roald Dhal learned to never let his anger get to him, and as for Mrs. Pratchett she was fired.
