- Smelling flowers and herbs, they thought that the bad smell was a cause of the disease so they offered patients sweet smelling flowers to smell.
- Leaches, they thought that the Leaches would suck out the bad blood.
- Killing/Burning Jews, they thought that they deliberately poisoned wells
- a group called the Flagellants. They travelled from town to town publicly whipping themselves in the hope of receiving God’s forgiveness for their sins and cure from the disease.
- doctors cut open buboes to draw out ‘bad blood’.
- The Pope sat between bonfires for many days so he can breathe the purified air, this helped saved the Popes life since fleas disliked such heat.
