Storyboard Text

  • General Washington hears of General Cornwallis's plan to take over Yorktown and grow from there. He then devises a secret plan to surround Yorktown with the help of Conte de Rochambeau.
  • With the help of the French Fleet led by Conte de Rochambeau, General Washington and the continental army had surrounded General Cornwallis at Yorktown, VA successfully.
  • Oh No we are trapped! What are we going to do?
  • After 11 exhausting days of fighting, General Washington and his men showed Cornwallis that they had them beat. Cornwallis decided to surrender. This battle had a huge outcome on the war as it showed that the Colonists were completely capable of winning and wouldn't give up. Upon hearing the news, this was one of the final battles that led up to the Treaty of Paris
