  • Hi everyone I´m Tiny Sammy. Welcome to science class for today. Today we will learn about how a sediment turns into a sedimentary rock. Specifically we are going to look into Halite and how it changes into Rock Salt
  • Halite has a Crystalline structure and has Fine to Coarse Crystals. Also crystals from chemical precipitates and evaporites.
  • Rock Salt can be found in many places but in New York you can find it in Lancing, NY.
  • Halite is usually eroded by salt water. When tides of water from the ocean comes onto land Halite is sucked in and is combined with the salt water. Once they combine the water begins to evaporates and the salt and halite combine and become rock salt.
  • Okay class any questions or concerns? None? great! YOU HAVE A TEST RIGHT NOW ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU JUST LEARNED! I am just kidding, class dismissed goodbye everyone!
